Hi...

EMU has completed reviewing their lost/missing titles from March 2010 to June 2011.

After our selectors reviewed the 988 lost/missing circulating monographs, they determined we would not replace 239 titles. I filtered the 239 titles against the criteria
for titles included in the Shared Print collection which yielded list of 30 titles. I then compared those 30 titles against EMU's shared print retention list and identified 7 titles which EMU has agreed to retain. I looked up the prices for the 7 titles on Amazon/Barnes-Noble a determined a replacement cost of $307.
One half of that cost is for a volume of International Encyclopedia of Linguistics (vol. 3) $149.

I've attached the list of 7 titles for your information.

While we will not replace these titles immediately, I wanted to illustrate that there are potential direct costs associated with participation in this program.

Perhaps we can use this result as a test case for developing a model to manage lost/missing titles as spelled out in the MOU.
