Niche Academy announces a free webinar:

Transforming Your Library into a Learning Playground Wednesday, May 30, 1:00 pm EDT

In this webinar, librarian and author Brittany Jacobs will demonstrate how to transform the informal setting of a public library into a place where "play" in the guise of game-based learning becomes a natural and exciting process for children and young students. She will also discuss how to incorporate existing programs such as the makerspace, storytime, and book clubs to play to your strengths; more effectively utilize the tools and resources you have; and transform your library.

This webinar is free, but registration is required. For more information and to register:

The Institute for Educational Leadership will host its 2018 National Family and Community Engagement Conference on July 11-13, 2018, right here in Ohio at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland.

This national conference provides opportunities educators, administrators, parent leaders, and community stakeholders (including librarians!) to learn strategies and best practices focused on solutions that enhance and expand engagement through family-school-community partnerships. Through pre-conference sessions, site visits, plenaries, and over 100 workshops, the conference will highlight how family engagement efforts are being organized and implemented on the national, state, and local level. The conference aims to provide attendees with a better understanding of how to build and maintain family-school-community partnerships to improve student outcomes. Registration for the full conference is $525; numerous partial-conference registration packages are also available.
