[Mcls-print-storage] New MCLS print project participants

Hi all,

Bob and Barb raise some issues that we will need to work through as we develop our memorandum of understanding. It feels a bit unsettling to agree to the withdraw criteria and allotment before we have a full conversation about what commitments we are willing or even empowered to make. My notes have us beginning MOU talk at our Feb 8 phone call.

Cheryl Burley compiled a very comprehensive outline of discussion points for the MOU drawing on experience of other shared collection projects. The list of discussion points includes Bob's concerns and many, many more. I volunteered to work with Cheryl to have some sort of strawman ready to spark our February discussion. Bob and Barb also volunteered, so I am grateful to hear them grappling already with both potential consequences and options. At this point, I don't think any of us have committed to anything other than participation in the pilot which includes developing an agreement we can bring to our directors and campus.

Please see EMU perspective about the next steps and concerns we have about the benefits for libraries volunteering to have smaller withdrawal picklists and a need to develop a replacement policy for lost archived materials.
