Osterlin Library's information literacy program is integrated into freshman composition classes. This librarian manages and leads the program and teaches many of the class sessions. An important part of this job is collaborating with faculty on curriculum and establishing an assessment program to gather and interpret data to measure program success. This individual shares in all other aspects of regular library duties including helping students at the public desk and being responsible for a section of the collection—both print and electronic. This position also directs outreach to faculty, staff and students through marketing efforts, including social media and newsletters.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES and LICENSES Required Master's degree in library science (MLS) or equivalent from an American Library Association accredited school Reference desk experience Minimum 1 year experience as a professional librarian Experience using academic library databases and web-based resources Experience using instructional technology
Experience teaching information literacy in a classroom setting Training in information literacy Experience leading a team of professionals Experience coordinating schedules Experience designing and developing web pages and sites
This is a full-time, 12-month position.
