Subject: [QUESTIONPOINT-L] free webinar: Making the Case for Virtual Reference in Tough Times: Tues, April 24

Please join us for this free webinar on virtual reference:

It's no secret that libraries everywhere are making difficult choices due to the current economy. Newer programs, like virtual reference, are often the first to face the chopping block. Making the case for funding virtual reference might be easier than you think. Join us as we discuss what has an impact on funders, and what features of a virtual reference service are most valuable to the community.

Cathay Crosby, coordinator of Delaware's statewide service and Jaclyn McKewan, coordinator of Ask Us 247 (in New York state), will discuss what has an impact on funders, and what resonates most with their respective communities.

Despite the best advocacy, paying for virtual reference software still may not make the cut. Liz Barksdale, Texas Woman's University, will explore several free options libraries can use to reach out to their communities.

"Virtual Reference in Tough Times" is the next in the Best Practices in Virtual Reference series. Each session is a free, hour-long webinar available to all and highlighting some of the benefits of working collectively with others in your group.
