<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.0pt">You may have caught the MeL Minute last October about the results of the MeL usability study of Encore Duet, the search box on the MeL homepage. We took the results of that study very seriously and implemented
many of the changes that were revealed as desired enhancements. The vendor with whom we work has also had a number of product improvements.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.0pt">We'd like to thank the staff and patrons of the Jackson District Library who have agreed to participate in a follow-up study to determine whether these changes improve the success rate of the MeLCat request process.
We'll also be working with non-patrons—mid-Michigan residents who do not currently have a library card—to see if MeLCat is intuitive for them. That study will take place this summer with results to be announced in the fall. Stay tuned!<o:p></o:p></p>
