Dear Colleagues,<br>
Joel Tacey just left Baldwin after another successful Video Gamefest for<br>
our Teens! As in the past, Joel was prompt, professional, enthusiastic, and<br>
fun!<br>
We booked Joel for a double program. The Video Party followed his<br>
ScienceRific Comedy Show for a younger audience with an attendance of over<br>
100. We were all smiling as laughs were heard throughout the library. A<br>
very upbeat Gamefest followed with 4 amazing game stations, mini<br>
tournaments, and prizes.<br>
Joel is one of our favorite hosts and always presents a top notch show. I<br>
highly recommend him for future events in our library circles.<br>

The Board of Trustees of the Albion (MI) District Library is seeking an<br>
exceptional leader with a thorough understanding of public library<br>
service and the skills necessary to move this warm and friendly<br>
customer-service focused library forward.<br>
The Albion Library is a district library with a dedicated source of<br>
funding and an independent Board of Trustees, an operating budget of<br>
nearly $600,000, a skilled and a dedicated staff of 18, including 4<br>
professional staff. The Library, located along the I-94 corridor in<br>
south central Michigan, serves a diverse, multi-cultural population of<br>
over 12,000. Nestled among the forks of the Kalamazoo River, Albion<br>
features tree-shaded streets, turn of the century homes, and an<br>
abundance of parks and recreational opportunities. The campus of Albion<br>
College, a private, liberal arts college with approximately 1,700<br>
students, is just blocks from the Library and adds to the community?s<br>
diversity and energy. The Albion District Library and Albion College<br>
collaborate closely on projects of mutual benefit.<br>
The position requires an MLS/MLIS from a graduate program accredited by<br>
the American Library Association. Additional qualifications include: 4<br>
years of professional library experience in a public library of which at<br>
least two years have been in a management or supervisory position; a<br>
thorough knowledge of public library service; proven experience in<br>
successful financial management; an understanding of technology and its<br>
application in public libraries; strong management skills; excellent<br>
communication and interpersonal relationship skills; and the ability to<br>
establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse<br>
groups. The successful candidate will have the ability to empower and<br>
inspire others and a passion for public library service. Experience in a<br>
millage or bond election is desirable.<br>

hire a Technical Services Librarian. The ideal candidate will sharea vision<br>
of the importance of technology in the delivery of modern library services<br>
and will be able to effectively communicate and implement that vision and<br>

The Seabury Academic Library serves the many arts and academic programs at<br>
both Interlochen Arts Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy in a variety of<br>
ways.<br>

The library staff<br>
<br>
- builds meaningful relationships with faculty, staff and students.<br>
- assists patrons in finding information.<br>
- provides a collection and service that meets patron?s needs.<br>
- creates a welcoming atmosphere.<br>

This position works closely with the Bonisteel Library Director and other<br>
library staff members in order to provide these services to the ICA<br>

Major duties and responsibilities will include the following:<br>

- Manage, maintain, and trouble shoot the ILS (SIRSI-Dynix)<br>
- Train the appropriate staff in using the up-dates of the ILS system<br>
- Assist in the collection of data and preparation of reports pertinent<br>
to the library area<br>
- Oversee cataloging and processing of materials<br>
- Oversee matters dealing with circulation<br>
- Manage Interlibrary Services, Michigan e-library electronic resource<br>
management, online collections, and digital services projects<br>
- Recommend and provide support implementing new and emerging<br>
technologies and processes<br>
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with<br>
faculty, staff and students<br>
- Process orders for supplies and materials when needed<br>
- Participate in school-wide committee work when applicable<br>

- Aid in maintaining the library?s website<br>

- Provide a high level of reference and technical support to our users<br>
- Supervise high school community service students<br>
- Support the teaching of Information Literacy classes and Intermester<br>
courses as needed<br>
- Collaborate with other library staff on the selection of materials for<br>
the library<br>

- Collaborate with library staff on special projects dealing with<br>
outreach, programming and initiatives<br>

QUALIFICATIONS<br>

- Must possess an ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS<br>
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of a variety of library<br>
technologies<br>
- Experience working in a library<br>
- Proficient in using and teaching library databases.<br>

- Trained cataloger with knowledge of OCLC: skilled in using OCLC,<br>
knowledge of MARC and RDA, assigning subject headings and classification<br>
- Demonstrated experience in project management and problem solving<br>
- Evidence of the ability to work effectively both collaboratively and<br>
independently<br>

- Knowledgeable in both the current and future trends and practices in<br>
libraries<br>
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a variety of<br>
responsibilities and projects<br>
- Desired qualifications include<br>
- experience with library applications and systems such as<br>
SIRSI-Dynix, CONTENTdm/D-Space, 3-M security, and ILL;<br>
- an undergraduate degree in an arts related field.<br>
