How to Pick Your (News)paper: Selection, Resources, and Workflows for Newspaper Digitization
When: Tuesday, December 19, 2023, 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET
What: Library patrons use newspapers to learn about current events and to research local history. As newspapers deteriorate and microfilm machines become harder to repair and replace, libraries need to explore digitizing their newspapers to continue providing access to patrons. Join Biz Gallo, Statewide Digitization Initiatives Coordinator at the Library of Michigan, for this webinar on newspaper digitization. In this session you will learn about the many factors to consider before starting a newspaper digitization project and identify available resources to help librarians digitize and provide access to newspapers in their collection.
