*The Opportunity*

The Ashland Public Library [APL], located in Ashland County, Ohio is
seeking an accomplished leader to serve as their next *Director*. This
dynamic leadership position reports to a seven-member Board of Trustees and
is responsible for the executive administration of the organization. The
Director will provide sound operations and fiscal management while
prioritizing patron satisfaction, community collaboration and engagement,
employee relations, and staff development.

*About the Library and Community*

Founded in 1892, the Ashland Public Library has been the cultural hub of
the community. On top of historically providing a wide range of services
beyond just books, newspapers, music, and movies, the library has
drastically expanded its services and resources recently. The single, main
branch is located in the city of Ashland, Ohio and completed a significant
renovation in 2016 which created a centralized service desk and expanded
the children’s area. APL’s mission is *Connecting people with ideas,

Located between Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, Ashland is a cozy, tight-knit
rural community with a growing main street district featuring boutiques,
gift shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The area also boasts many
beautiful outdoor parks, preserves, and other natural recreation areas. The
city is the seat of the county and hosts many seasonal music, arts,
cultural, sporting, and youth events.

*Position Qualifications and Compensation*

Qualified candidates will possess:

-         A master’s degree in Library and Information Science [MLIS],
education, public administration, or another relevant field is required.

-         Five or more years of experience in library operations management.

-         Experience with fiscal oversight of an annual budget.

-         Experience collaborating and partnering with trustees,
civic/community partners, local businesses, and other key stakeholders.

-         Experience improving facilities, collections, programs, and team
members.

A generous compensation package includes a competitive starting pay range
minimum of $85,000; healthcare benefits include generous paid time-off
