LANSING, Mich.-On April 26, 2018, Paul M. Keep will join the Historical
Society of Michigan as the organization's Director of Development. Mr. Keep
will work from the Society's Lansing-based office, providing leadership for
strategic fund-development initiatives, such as major and planned giving
programs, annual giving, donor stewardship and recognition programs, grant
writing, and public relations related to development.

"Mr. Keep comes to us with a wealth of fundraising, relationship-building
and management experience," commented Larry J. Wagenaar, Executive Director
of the Historical Society of Michigan. "He possesses a great enthusiasm for
the Society's mission and will be an outstanding addition to our staff and
leadership team."

Prior to this position, Mr. Keep was a consultant with The Leadership Group
in Grand Rapids, where he led strategic planning efforts for leadership
development across Michigan.

Before that, he served as director of philanthropy and communications for
Catholic Charities West Michigan and as an editor with MLive.com and The
Grand Rapids Press. In those positions, Mr. Keep developed and implemented
innovative digital and social media strategies to fund development.

He has also served on the boards of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation,

Mr. Keep holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University
and a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri.

The Historical Society of Michigan is the state's oldest cultural
organization, founded in 1828 by territorial governor Lewis Cass and

on publications, conferences, education, awards and recognition programming,
and support for local history organizations to preserve and promote
