The Michigan Open Book Project, http://textbooks.wmisd.org/ is a multi-year initiative funded as part of the Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant (TRIG) from the Michigan Department of Education. It is designed to empower groups of master K-12 teachers to come together, collaborate and develop an open education resource for use in Michigan classrooms. To date 13 textbooks have been authored and made available:
*        Myself and Others
*        Families and Schools
*        Community Studies
*        Michigan Studies
*        United States Studies
*        World Geography
*        Ancient World History
* United States History - Beginnings through Revolution
* United States History - Revolution to Reconstruction
* United States History - Reconstruction to Today
*        World History
*        Economics and You
*        Civic Live

All of these eTextbooks run on iOS, OSX, Android, Windows and Chrome platforms and they have recently been added to MeLCat where you can search for them by all viable methods. We would like to thank Tim Watters, Special Collections Cataloger at the Library of Michigan and the MeLCat Team at the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services for making these digital textbooks accessible through MeL's statewide shared catalog.
