The Ferris Library for Information, Technology, & Education (FLITE) at Ferris State University (Big Rapids, Michigan) invites applications for a collaborative and service-oriented Optometry and Life Sciences Librarian to participate in collection management, research support, outreach, and instruction for faculty and students in optometry, biological sciences, and select health sciences fields. Ferris State University has a student enrollment exceeding 14,000 and offers 180 programs. Ferris State University is home to the Michigan College of Optometry (MCO), one of 22 accredited optometry programs in the United States.

Required: ALA-accredited master's degree. Minimum of two years of experience in academic libraries involving public services or health sciences. Evidence of a strong commitment to public service. Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of research resources and tools related to optometry, life sciences, and health sciences. Evidence of the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly. Excellent problem solving skills and sound judgment in dealing with work-related challenges and issues. Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively with others in a team environment. Ability to coordinate and manage projects. Ability to be innovative and flexible in an ever-changing environment. Valid driver's license.
