If you're willing to spend the money, SenSource sells overhead people counters that are very accurate and are even able to distinguish the difference between adults and children. They cost about $1,800 each and require hardwiring, but again, they are very accurate. Details here: http://www.sensourceinc.com/peoplecounters.htm
