[Michlib-l] "Libraries Read: 1 Book" Events Announced

MCLS invites library staff across Indiana and Michigan who are reading the 
book “Contagious: Why Things Catch On” by Jonah Berger, to any of the 
following events to discuss the book, expand on the topic, and learn more. 
 There are many ways to participate, both physically and virtually.  Join 
the conversations!

Live Twitter Chat Thursdays
Join us every Thursday in June from 2-3pm eastern time for live twitter 
chat discussions about the book at #Libread1bk. 
June 4:   Social Currency
June 11: Triggers and Emotions
June 18: Public and Practical Value
June 25: Stories and Wrap Up

Google Hangout Discussions
We will host 4 Google Hangout discussions, moderated by MCLS staff. 
Participation in hangouts is limited to 10 people per discussion, so 
pre-registration is required. All times are Eastern.

In-person Book Discussion and “Crafting Contagious” Workshop (2 general 
LEUs) 
For face-to-face interaction, and to dig a little deeper, join us at one 
of the following locations.  We will discuss the book, and also complete 
the exercises in the “Catching Contagious Workbook. ”

Library in Merrillville, IN. 

Take the Lynda.Com class “Viral Marketing: Crafting Shareable Content” by 
Jonah Berger.
Free for any librarian with a subscription to Lynda.com.  If you are an 
Indiana librarian you may access the course through the Indiana State 
Library's subscription (pre-approved for 1 LEU).  If you are a Michigan 
librarian without access to Lynda.com, contact Mary Beth Wimberley 
wimberleym at mcls.org by June 17 to set up a free trial with access to the 
class.
