Employment Opportunity:

Head of Reference/Adult Services forGeorgetown Township Public Library located in eastern Ottawa County andsuburban Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Head of Reference/Adult Services performsprofessional and supervisory work in planning, implementing, and managing acomprehensive program of library service to adults and is responsible for allactivities assigned to the Reference/Adult Services department, includingcollection development, services, and programs. Position reports to the Library Director.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science from anALA accredited institution with progressively responsible professional libraryexperience, including adult services, general reference, administrative, supervisory,and department head experience. Programming skills are highly desired. A workingknowledge/understanding of the principles, methods, and practices of publiclibrary service, including searching methods, readers’ advisory, and referenceinterviews/sources. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communicationskills. Candidates must possess or beeligible for Level 2 certification through the Library of Michigan.

Work scheduleincludes evenings and Saturdays.

This is a full-time salaried position. Starting salary is $45,000.
