Hello all,

Electronic mailing lists have been around for quite a while. They can be open, moderated, for announcements, for discussion, archived, broad or very narrow in scope; i.e., whatever the list designer wants. Because they come directly to your email inbox, news and updates: are timely, don't add another piece of paper to your work site, can be quickly shared, are subject focused, and are archived. The library community in Michigan is fortunate to have access to some very informative lists and newsletters including those made available through Midwest Collaborative for Library Services<http://mcls.org/>. Information about the following and other available lists can be found at: https://mcls.org/news/listservs/ Don't miss out. Review the available lists and see which are applicable to your job and interests.
* The Meldatabases-list provides information to library staff around the state about the MeL databases. Get information on MeL databases features, issues, updates, and other news. Postings are archived and available to current subscribers.
* The MCLS Newsletter is distributed via email monthly. It contains sections on news, training, eResources, MeL (MeLCat), and RIDES. The most recent online version of the newsletter is always available at the MCLS eNewsletter page<https://mcls.org/news/enewsletter/>. It is important to note that the MCLS Newsletter is not available in print form.
MeL Minutes are brought to you by the Library of Michigan. Want more information on MeL? Stay tuned for next week's MeL Minute available on many Michigan library listservs, email us at contact at mel.org<mailto:contact at mel.org> or visit mel.org<http://mel.org/>. We encourage you to share MeL Minutes with your public service colleagues.
