Are you a new public library director and would like to learn more about your role both as a library administrator and connector in your community?

The Public Library Directors 101 series of on-demand webinar recordings introduces the many and unique facets of public library directorship through online videos you can view when convenient for you. Four recordings are available, lasting from 11 to 28 minutes in length, and they provide a broad overview to inform and inspire you in your new role.

The four modules are:

* "Your New Role" covers ethics, values, and leadership - all important traits for public library directors.

* The "Community Relations" module introduces marketing, public relations, and outreach from the public library director perspective.

* The third installment of the series "Planning and Project Management" discusses essential steps in the strategic planning process, the benefits of strategic planning, and tools for successful project management.

* The final module, "Asset Management" covers management of the varied assets of library systems, including staff, buildings, collections, and budget.

This content was developed through the Continuing Education Connector Project via the COSLA public website (www.cosla.org). The Connector Project leverages the expertise of continuing education coordinators, library development directors, Chief Officers and other staff at state library agencies through co-development and co-delivery of educational materials on topics of current interest in state library agencies and public libraries throughout the U.S.

Take a look and spread the word!
