Here is information about The Big Read Keynote Lecture:

*Darwinian Issues in The Call of the Wild*
Henry Ford Centennial Library Auditorium
16301 Michigan Ave., Dearborn
Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 7 - 8 pm

London devoted his whole career to grappling with the implications of
Darwinian thought. Join us for this lecture presented by Dr. Lawrence I.
Berkove, a University of Michigan-Dearborn emeritus professor and
internationally recognized authority on Jack London.

Visit bigreaddearborn.org for a list of over 35 "Call of the Wild" events,
most of which are for ALL AGES. (The ones that aren't for all ages are for
teens.)

The Big Read is coming to Dearborn! Do you hear the Call? Fun-filled
activities and events centered on Jack London's *The Call of the Wild* will
take place in and around Dearborn in March through May 2014. The adventure
- *Call of the Wild: EmBARKING on Discovery - *begins with a BIG kickoff
free and open to the public at The Henry Ford in Anderson Theater on
Saturday, March 8, 2014, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.:

Then we have the Keynote Lecture:* Darwinian Issues in The Call of the Wild
*on Tuesday, March 18, 7-8 pm in the auditorium at Henry Ford Centennial
Library*. *London devoted his whole career to grappling with the
implications of Darwinian thought. Join us for this lecture presented by
Dr.    Lawrence I. Berkove, an internationally recognized authority on Jack
London.



Another date to save is Saturday, April 26, 1-3 p.m. That's when George
Guidall, renowned actor and audiobook narrator, will give a presentation on
"The Art and Artifice of Audiobook Narration," and he will do a dramatic
reading from *The Call of the Wild*. This event will take place in the
auditorium at Henry Ford Centennial Library.



*The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in
partnership with Arts Midwest. The program is designed to revitalize the
role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read
for pleasure and enlightenment.*
