Braille and Talking Book Library Services Webinar

Date: Thursday, August 21, 2014
Time: 10:00-10:30 am
Register: http://www.solutionwhere.com/lom/cw/CourseByAlpha.asp

The Braille and Talking Book Library, BTBL, serves people with visual and physical handicaps in Michigan. The service offers best-sellers, mysteries, westerns, biographies, how-to books and other types of materials found in a public library. The only difference is that the books are recorded on cassette or printed in braille and will arrive at a patron's home via the regular U.S. postal service.

Join BTBL staff members, Stephanie Wambaugh, Outreach Librarian and Betsie Bush, Recording Studio Coordinator, to learn about the services available to those having trouble reading print. This free webinar will provide information on:

  *   Overview of BTBL
  * Information on eligibility for users
  *   Services available
  *   Collections
  * New flash type of devices used
  * What public libraries can do to promote the service
Audio will be provided using Voice Over Internet Protocol, VoIP. Computer speakers or headphones are required for listening to the audio portion of the program. A telephone audio option is NOT provided for this webinar. Attendees will have a Text Chat option to type in comments and questions. An archived version of the session will be made available via the Library of Michigan website.
