Dear Public Library Directors,

The Digital Inclusion Survey funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services will close on November 15th 2013. Our state currently has a current response rate of 21%. The goal is to get to at least a 60% response rate, evenly distributed across the country to provide state and national analysis. An added feature this time is the ability to generate much more localized and interactive data. Also, results from the survey and speed test will provide valuable new data for advocacy at the local, state, and national levels. Please participate in the survey by visiting http://digitalinclusion.umd.edu.

To see examples of how you can use the data when the survey is completed, visit the following links.

Mapping tools: http://digitalinclusion.umd.edu/content/interactive-map

Infographics: http://digitalinclusion.umd.edu/infographics
Digital Inclusion brief: http://digitalinclusion.umd.edu/sites/default/files/DigitalInclusionBrief_9-30-2013.pdf

However, these tools are only useful if the data is reported.

To participate, go to http://digitalinclusion.umd.edu/ and follow the Complete the Survey button. In addition to the survey questions, libraries are requested to complete a speed test. Instructions are on the first page when you log in to the survey. Speed capture is automatic.

Please complete the Survey prior to November 15th 2013

The Digital Inclusion Survey is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and conducted by the American Library Association and the Information Policy & Access Center at the University of Maryland College Park, in partnership with the International City/County Management Association.
